  • Registration closes at 11:59 PM MST on Thursday, August 20th.
  • Persons under the age of 18 (on race day) must have a parent or guardian sign their entry form.
  • No entry form will be processed unless it is complete.
  • Teams must be paid in full by August 2nd to be guaranteed an official event T-shirt and finishers medal.
  • Teams paying after August 2nd will still receive a T-shirt, but size is not guaranteed.
We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) situation, and have regular communication with our city and county agency partners. This year’s races are impacted by the current situation in a way that influences most decisions and ways of operating. We are actively planning to host both the Midway Marathon & Half Marathon and the Valkyrie Relay. However, the safety of our racers comes first, and if it is determined that we can not race safely, both events will be canceled and we will offer 100% cash refunds to anyone that registered for the race. Below is a list of COVID-19 transmission mitigating practices that we will use.
Race Safe Practices: 
Packet Pickup Temp Check – All racers will be required to pick up their race packet in person the day before the race and will be required to take a temperature check. Any racer with a temperature over 100.4 Fahrenheit will be not be allowed to race and will be refunded their race entry fee. Those participating in the relay will be allowed to switch teammates with another existing teammate or a healthy new teammate, or choose to be refunded their race entry fee.
Staggered Starts – The Midway Marathon & Half Marathon and the Valkyrie Relay Trail Run Leg will be organized with staggered starts. Racers will be released in groups small enough to reduce crowding on course and at the start. While at the Start and Finish lines, Racers are expected to maintain 6 feet social distancing from other competitors and attendees.
Face Masks –  before competing and once a leg is complete, all racers are required to don masks before exiting the transition or finish area. Disposable masks may be discarded at any aid station. All race staff, volunteers and contractors will be required to wear face masks and gloves (where applicable).
Aid Stations – Hand sanitizer and trash receptacles are available at all aid stations.  Volunteers will not be able to hand water or nutrition directly to racers. Water and food will be placed on aid station table spaced in a way that will avoid unnecessary contact with other racers.

Substitutions

Substitutions must be made online by the team captain ONLY.  It is the sole responsibility of the team captain to ensure that the correct names are submitted online.

Teams needing to make substitutions of team members must complete the substitution form and send to the Valkyrie Events. All spaces on entry form must be filled out clearly (print or type) for the substitution to be entered in the race.

Refund Policy

If we decide to cancel the race due to COVID-19 concerns we will refund your race entry fee within a week of announcing the cancellation. The Message Board is an excellent resource to find racers to complete your team if you have a cancellation.
